How to Access Your Rossier Domain Account (Personal Files) Remotely

This guide provides instructions on how to access your Rossier domain account when you are not on campus or using a computer that is not configured on the Rossier domain. These instructions will allow you to access and manage files within your Rossier domain account, specifically the files in your Documents and Desktop folders. Prerequisites:

  1. Working internet connection

  2. USC VPN - Cisco Anyconnect 

  3. Active Rossier MIS domain account and password

Step-by-step guide

 

  1. Verify you are connected to the internet.

  2. Open Cisco Anyconnect (USC VPN) and log in with your USC ID and password (Shibboleth) or go to vpn.usc.edu in your internet browser and follow the instructions to log in to the USC VPN

  3. Open File Explorer (Documents)

  4. Click on This PC to access new tab in the menu bar

  5. Click on Map network drive to open the pop-up list of options

  6. Choose Map network drive

  7. Click on the Drive: option and navigate to and click U:\ 

  8. Type the server location in Folder: \\ED1\Users$\"your username" (same as your USC ID not your email)

  9. A login window should appear

  10. Enter your username in the format RSOE\"your username" (same as your USC ID not your email) and password


  11. You should successfully log in and your File Explorer should appear containing your Documents and Desktop folders
