How to connect to the Pullias Server

(Please scroll to the bottom of this How-To Article if you need to acquire Cisco AnyConnect for USC VPN access)

Below are instructions for how to connect to the PulliasED server

There are 3 primary drives in which to connect. However, these instruction can apply when connecting to any specific PulliasED share.

  1. "L" Drive is the general Data folder, accessible to Pullias users for group sharing of documents 
  2. "P" Drive is for specific Buffett Grant related work (special permission is required)
  3. "I" Drive is for Impact Grant users only (special permission is required)

How to connect from PC

1) Connect to USC VPN service using the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client. (if you do not have the vpn client you can download it by going to vpn.usc.edu). Log in with your USC ID and password (Shibboleth).

2) Double-click the I_Impact.bat, L_Drive.bat or P_Drive.bat file that you previously downloaded to your computer desktop

3) When it asks for a username:

                a) Enter RSOE\ then your username as in RSOE\username 

4) When it asks for a password:

                a) Enter the Pullias account password given to you. You will not see the characters register on the screen. Simply type the password and hit enter.

5) The command prompt will disappear and the P: or L: drive will be mapped to your computer.


How to connect from a Mac

1) Connect to USC VPN service using the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client. (if you do not have the vpn client you can download it by going to vpn.usc.edu)

2) Double-click the I_Drive, L_Drive or P_Drive file that you previously downloaded and unzipped to your computer desktop

3) From the connection screen :

                a) Enter "RSOE\username" (without the quotes)

                b) Enter your RSOE password (*Please note that ALL "P_Drive" users are restricted from saving the password in the keychain)

                c) Then click connect


The connection window will disappear and the Impact, Buffet or Pullias Drive will be listed in your finder window.


Downloading and Installing Cisco AnyConnect for USC VPN Access

You MUST be connected to the USC network via one of these types of connections:

  • Wired via Ethernet cable within the Rossier School
  • USC Secured Wireless
  • Or off campus using other wireless network connections while also connected first to USC VPN (Requires Cisco AnyConnect)

PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO CONNECT TO VPN IF ON CAMPUS AND CONNECTED THROUGH ETHERNET CABLE OR WIRESLESSLY ON USC SECURED WIRELESS

1. Using your preferred web browser, log into USC VPN service by going to vpn.usc.edu. When prompted, log on with your USC NetID credentials at the Shibboleth window

a) Choose AnyConnect from the Side menu and click Start AnyConnect.


2. Download and Install Cisco AnyConnect for MacOS

3. Open the Cisco VPN AnyConnect application on the computer. Make sure the VPN address is vpn.usc.edu. Click connect and log in with your USC username and password (Shibboleth).

4. You should now be connected to USC VPN
