How to enroll iPhone and iPad to access e-mail

 * * * Microsoft has had ongoing issues enrolling phones to native email apps. Please use the OWA or Microsoft Outlook App from the Apple or Android App stores if these instructions do not work. * * *

There is a new required application to enable e-mail on your phone and mobile devices.

  1. Install the Microsoft Intune Company Portal in the App Store. You will need your personal iTunes password to install the application.
  2. After the application installs, sign in using your @rossier.usc.edu e-mail address. Do not use the main campus e-mail address, otherwise you will get an error message.
  3. Click on the "Begin" link on the top menu
  4. Click on the "Enroll" link on the top menu
  5. Click on "Install" button to install the Management Profile on your device
  6. A warning message will appear with information explaining the access the app may have on your device. This is in accordance to the campus data policy. In the event your device is lost or stolen, the application provides USC the ability to wipe your device. To keep you data secure, Office 365 provides USC the ability to enforce certain security policies.
    1. If you do not accept this policy, then you will not have access to your e-mail from your remote device. The only way around this is to use mail.office365.com from a web browser.
  7. Enter your iPhone Passcode to install (the code to unlock your phone)
  8. Once it is installed, click on the "Done" button.
  9. A window should open up saying "Open this page in Comp Portal"
  10. Click on the "Continue" button to verify the new application installed. Once installed, you will be able to receive e-mail on your device.

Troubleshooting Tip: If you are unsuccessful or receive an error message, uninstall the Microsoft intune/Company Portal app, restart your phone, and try steps 1-10 again.
